Independent professional wrestling, more commonly known as “indie wrestling” has been put on pause since the start of the pandemic last spring but with the UK governments roadmap out of lockdown released, there is now an end in sight.
Fans, wrestlers and promoters alike will be hoping for a safe return of fans to venues and for shows to begin again sometime this summer.
Quays News reporter Fergus Adderley, spoke with some of the top UK indie stars ahead of their returns to the squared circle.
US wrestling promotions such as WWE and AEW, have had small percentages of fans in attendance for weekly shows since last summer and have seen their weekly shows continue to run uninterrupted since the start of the pandemic.
But UK promotions such as RevPro, Kamikaze and Progress have seen their shows stopped completely since the UK first went into lockdown, Progress however, recently began airing shows as part of a business agreement with WWE to air their shows on WWEs subscription website, the WWE Network.
