The UCU (the University and College Union) held a strike rally in Manchester where they protested their four strike agenda against treatment by Universities.
Travelling from the University of Manchester to St. Peter’s Square, the more than 100 strong cohort of lecturers and students were marching against Casualisation, Pay, Equality, and Workload.
Once in St. Peters Square, lecturer’s gave speeches on the concerning issues, with Casualisation being a particular focus.
Representatives from the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, Salford University, the Royal Northern College of Music, University of Liverpool, Liverpool Hope University, and the Open University took part in the strike rally.
